The New Album due out on Tuesday, May 1st!

FOR IMMEDIATE PUBLISHING:

Northwestern Pennsylvania metal masters Sacred 13 return with their fourth and most powerful album yet, "Black Days Behind Us", the new album due out on Tuesday May 1st. The record is described to be more "intense, melodic, heavy, and conceptual" than any other record produced by the band. "It's our best, by far!" says lead guitarist/vocalist Josh Karickhoff confidently. "It's the culmination of everything we've been through as a band, and as individuals up to now. We basically took all the elements of our sound that not only we favor, but the fans favor as well, and elaborated on them and made the entire record like that; a 'true' Sacred 13 album. And it definitely has the best production of anything we've ever put out."

Black Days Behind Us is also the first Sacred 13 album to feature drum guru Sam Edwards behind the kit. "I had always done the drumming on our records in the past as we never felt we had a 'secure' line-up,” says Karickhoff, “but now with Sam being in the band for over two years and hearing his killer interpretations of our old songs as well his mind blowing drumming in general, it definitely felt right to break the tradition and include his creativity on this record. And boy what a difference it made! Wait until you hear it…"

The band's approach to writing and recording Black Days Behind Us also shifted from its previous efforts. "We took a different approach this time to really strengthen the production of this record, and I really believe that we succeeded in that respect. This album just sounds so good! And on top of that I believe the songwriting is better than ever before as well, so it just makes for a truly epic album. I'm extremely proud of it!" -Josh Karickhoff

The band is also currently in celebration of its tenth anniversary.  "This is the big #10 for us. I'm proud that we've been able to continue doing what we love for this long, and for receiving the support from our family and our fans to keep doing it. We are in talks of putting together a unique, and private 'fan-club' type performance/party to celebrate it, and it’s looking like it’s gonna fall on the same weekend we played our first show back in May of 2002, and of course as all the details come together and are secured, we will let the fans know what the plan is."

The band is currently working with former Stemm bassist/director, Stephen Crowl, on filming videos for the album's main singles. "Steve is a good friend of ours and an awesome director. He has so much motivation and excitement, and so much knowledge as well on how to bring his ideas to life! I can't wait to begin filming; it's going to be a blast working with Steve!"

Tour dates in support of “Black Days Behind Us” are already being confirmed and will be posted on the band’s website, www.sacred13.com as they come in.
